The Chronic Hepatitis B Liver Fibrosis Calculator (CHB-LFC) algorithm is presented on the picture. The flowchart is self-explanatory, however, it is important to clarify the possibility of situation with confounding results, where particular patient may be classified as both positive and negative for significant fibrosis/cirrhosis. In cases where APRI is <0.5 and FIB-4>1.45 or in cases where GUCI is <1.8 and Lok score is >0.65, patient is classified as positive for significant fibrosis/cirrhosis due to a high PPV for positivity thresholds.
CHB - chronic hepatitis B; APRI - AST to Platelets Ratio Index; FIB-4 - FIB-4 index; GUCI - Goteborg University Cirrhosis Index; Lok - Lok index
